During an assignment

Sell yourself at your real value. Emphasize the qualities that the client wants to see and customize your story to show how you can bring value to that particular client
Focus on results – getting the job done is your promise to the client
Maintain your self-confidence and high energy at all times
Do maintain close contact with Quest Advisors in order to help you immediately escalate any issues
Remain independent – don’t get drawn into office politics
Remember to network and keep the door open for any potential future collaborations

In-between assignments

Keep Quest Advisors up-to-date on your availability and update your CV with the latest assignment
Be open to Quest Advisors about your project expectations and about your development needs
Continuously expand your network and manage your relationships – always keep an eye open for potential projects or fellow Interim Managers (Quest Advisors will reward you for passing on recommendations)
Use the quiet time between assignments to freshen up your knowledge – read magazines, participate in conferences and develop intellectual capital on current issues (a very good opportunity to promote yourself within the community)
Remain flexible – do not refuse projects without careful consideration. Even if a project might not seem appealing, think about the value you can gain from it, how it can contribute to your development and more importantly how it can help you get more projects in the future
